NOCAC
Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission (NOCAC) is a locally controlled, private, non-profit organization that was incorporated in 1965. NOCAC is a primary source of direct support for over 6,000 low-income households in our six-county jurisdiction. NOCAC is dedicated to planning, developing and coordinating programs and services designed to combat conditions related to poverty in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Van Wert, and Williams counties. NOCAC continues to offer guidance to the consumers of our services, in the attainment of skills, knowledge and motivation that are necessary to become and remain self-sufficient members of the communities in which they live. NOCAC operates a homeless shelter/soup kitchen and facilitates a variety of community programs including Emergency Assistance, Publicly Funded Child Care, Head Start/Early Head Start, Homelessness Prevention, and Weatherization Assistance and Repair as well as the Financial Empowerment Program, now a Financial Opportunity Center (FOC).
Ravens Care, Inc
Ravens Care may possibly be able to assist Defiance County residents with a water disconnection. Residents will need to call to see if they qualify and set up an appointment. They are located at 1945 E. Second St in Defiance and their phone number is 419-782-7141. Please note that Ravens is only able to pay up to a certain amount per their guidelines and assistance is determined on a case by case basis.
