Multi Area Narcotics Unit (MAN Unit)
The Defiance Police Department is a founding member of the Multi Area Narcotics Unit (MAN Unit). The MAN Unit is comprised of officers representing the Defiance Police Department, the Defiance County Sheriff's Office, The Henry County Sheriff's Office, the Napoleon Police Department, The Williams County Sheriff's Office, The Bryan Police Department, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, the Archbold Police Department, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The MAN Unit takes an active role in combating illegal substances throughout Northwest Ohio.
The primary goal of the Multi-Area Narcotics (MAN) Unit is to eliminate narcotics traffickers and other major criminal activity operating within the jurisdictions of the task force. This is accomplished through investigations, enforcement of Ohio's drug laws, development of citizen support, and multi-jurisdictional collaboration. Officers of the MAN Unit are committed to maintaining a safe environment and strive to create a drug-free community for the citizens of the jurisdictions covered by the MAN Unit.
