The Water Treatment Plant hosted the 2023 Northwest District of the Ohio American Waterworks Association fall meeting in Defiance, Ohio. Nearly 100 water professionals from the region came for technical sessions led by Superintendent Adam McDowell and others. Following the technical sessions, they toured the facility. Mayor Mike McCann and City Administrator Ryan Mack accepted the award for Defiance as the hosting city.
In Fall 2023, a group of nearly 90 from the Defiance Christian Home Educators co-op came in to tour the plant and learn more about the water treatment process. Once again, the WTP staff enjoyed having the opportunity to show the plant to these groups.
The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) wrapped up its 6th grade tours with Defiance 6th grade students yesterday morning. As a part of the Defiance Soil and Water Conservation Resources Tour, the students were able to tour the facility and learn about the treatment process—from river to reservoir to tap.
Once again, the WTP staff enjoyed showing the plant to the group. Thanks to Defiance Middle School and Defiance Soil and Water for organizing the tour.
