FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW...DEFIANCE, OHIO NAMED IN THE “SMART21” COMMUNITIES WORLD-WIDE!!
March 20, 2024 – New York, NY, USA) – At the conclusion of a virtual conference hosted by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), once again, Defiance Ohio was named one of the Smart21 Communities of 2024.
Defiance, Ohio is proud to be on the global stage as one of the Smart21 Communities of 2024. This designation would not be possible without the support and collaborative efforts of the Defiance County Commissioners and Defiance County Economic Development Office. City of Defiance’s MS4 Coordinator Jen English has been working on this since 2019 and deserves much of the credit for this accomplishment for Defiance, Ohio. Thank you, Jen!

Each of the cities, towns, or regions that appear in the Smart21 have applied the six principles of the Community Accelerator Strategy to begin building inclusive Economic Prosperity, Social Health and Cultural Richness, which together make a community strong and resilient. Most have been working on their programs for several years that include the six principles of Connect, Work, Innovate, Engage, Include, and Sustain.
