LEGAL NOTICE FOR BIDS: LEGAL NOTICE
Sealed proposals for the MYRNA STREET ALLEY SANITARY SEWER POINT REPAIR, PROJECT NO. 2508, will be received by the City of Defiance, Defiance County, Ohio, at the office of the City Engineer, 631 Perry Street, until 2:00 P.M. Current Eastern Time, on Tuesday, the 25TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2025, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
- The scope of the work includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- 10 inch open cut point repair, 10 ft maximum length, 5 EA
- Lateral re-establishment with factory tap point repair, 3 EA
- Lateral status determination, 5 EA
- CCTV Inspection
Together with all necessary appertaining work.
The opinion of probable construction costs is $175,000.
Copies of the Plans, Specifications, and other contract documents are on file and can be examined at the Defiance City Service building, at 631 Perry Street, Suite 102, Defiance, Ohio, and may be obtained upon payment of a non-returnable deposit of $50.00, payable to the City of Defiance. Each bidder must be registered as a plan holder with the City of Defiance, Ohio.
Proposals must be submitted on the form furnished by the City; must contain the full name of every person interested therein and shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of a bond as required in Section 153.54 (A) of the Ohio Revised Code with a satisfactory surety or accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than ten (10%) per cent of the amount of the proposal by a Certified Check, Cashiers Check or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305 and Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code on a solvent bank, subject to the conditions provided in the Notice to Bidders.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond.
Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to condition of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract.
Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids, but no bidder shall withdraw his bid within Sixty (60) days after the actual opening thereof.
The right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
