Many hands make work light! YELP (Youth Engaged Leadership and Philanthropy under Defiance Area Foundation) loves D-town parks!
YELP is a kaleidoscope of youth ranging in grades 3-12 that have a heart for servant leadership! The students brainstorm ideas of how to make our world a better place by learning more about ways to do it and people to partner with. They wanted to know what the Defiance Dream Center was all about. So, what better way to learn than to participate in a First Saturday Serve?! We had the privilege of touring the faculty and then headed to Kids Creation to spread mulch! Service Director Rob Cereghin was prepared and ready with all the tools YELP needed! The students were eager to dig in! Everyone worked hard, enjoyed the beautiful weather, and loved making a new friend, Mr. Cereghin! You will see him in the pictures doing his best happy dance that all the mulch was in place!
YELP also had the opportunity to participate in Clean Up Your Parks Day with the City of Defiance! We headed out to Diehl Park and by lunchtime, all the winter blahs had been wiped clear from that beautiful park!
These students pour their whole hearts into whatever they are doing and are making a difference in our community!
Our Future Leaders at work! Thank you, YELP!
