WERLOR WASTE CONTROL SERVICE

DEFIANCE CITIZENS:

The Werlor Waste Control’s free disposal day at the designated parks will be held in conjunction with the annual Clean up Your Parks Day on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.  This day is part of the City’s contract with Werlor to provide one day of free disposal to those who live in the City.

FOUR CITY PARKS TO USE:

Kingsbury Park, Bronson Park, Veterans’ Park at Latty’s Grove, and Diehl Park.

Please be environmentally friendly by not throwing away items that the landfill cannot accept or are hazardous.  The landfill cannot take tires, appliances, hazardous materials, yard waste, batteries, burn barrels, or liquids of any kind.

All four parks will be staffed by Park Board Members to direct traffic and ask for your name and ID before dumping your items. Be a good citizen by placing everything inside the large Werlor containers and not beside it.  Your patience is also needed to make this a smooth process.

Please do not dispose your items prior to or after the allotted timeframe. Once a container is full Werlor will remove it and replace it by another, so allow Werlor’s drivers to do this when needed. The landfill closes at noon so the goal is to get everyone through as quickly as possible by 11:30 a.m. If one park is busy, try another one.

The Mayor, Board of Control, and City Council appreciate your help in keeping our City clean, and also grateful for the Werlor Waste Control staff for offering this service to our community!
