MAYOR McCANN SWORN INTO OFFICE & TWO COUNCIL MEMBERS HONORED

Recently re-elected Mayor Mike McCann takes the Oath of Office for a second term while being sworn in by Judge John T. Rohrs, III. His wife, Laurie McCann, was present and held the Bible as he was sworn into office. Mayor McCann will begin his second term on January 1, 2020.

Two outgoing Defiance council members were honored at their last meeting for their dedicated commitment and distinguished service to the City of Defiance.  Council President David McMaster presented plaques to Ward 1 Councilman Peter Lundberg and Ward 3 Councilman David Plant. Both councilmen decided not to seek re-election this year.

Mr. Lundberg is finishing his second four-year term representing residents in the First Ward on the south and southwest part of Defiance. Rev. Plant is completing an unexpired two-year term representing Third Ward residents on the north side of town, who also had served time as an at-large councilman in past years.

Mayor Mike McCann welcomes Mr. Steve Corbitt, who will replace Peter Lundberg, and Mr. Joshua Mast who will replace David Plant. Both will be sworn in during council’s first meeting on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.
