“Clean Up Your Parks Day” is Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.  An estimated 300 volunteers show up with their garden tools to aid in cleaning up the winter debris at their favorite park.

The City of Defiance Parks and Recreation department will be celebrating 25 years with volunteers and residents that come to help clean up at one of their City parks this  year. The support we receive from our community to help with this event over the years has been outstanding. Volunteers of all ages come out to assist with our spring cleanup of the parks that we enjoy and use all summer long.

Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 9:30 am until 11:30 am has been scheduled as this year’s date. A rain date will be Saturday, April 17th at the same time. I have enclosed a flyer providing all the details. Please post the flyer and make copies of the flyer to share with others. Lunch will be provided at Diehl Park starting at 11:30 am. A free T-shirt will be passed out to the volunteers that so generously donated their time to assist us with beautifying the parks!

So, dress accordingly and put on your boots, gloves and mask. Bring any yard tools you have and join us at either Bronson Park, Kingsbury Park, Riverside Park, Eastside Park, Holgate Park, Veteran’s Park (Latty’s Grove), Pontiac Park, Diehl Park, the Fort Grounds or the Reservoir. All you need to do is show up at one of these parks at 9:30 am and the person in charge will have you sign in and assign you a task.

If you have any questions, please contact Jackie Arps with the City of Defiance Parks department at 419-782-2240.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 9:30 am at one of your favorite parks!
