A Revitalized Downtown

mccanMike McCann, Mayor: City of Defiance

Mike McCann was elected to his first term as Mayor of the City of Defiance in November 2015 having served as City Council President since 2014. His desire to serve as Mayor stems from wanting the city where he was born and raised to be a better place to live for all of its citizens. Mayor McCann is a 1975 graduate of Defiance High School and attended the University of Toledo before rising through the ranks at ServiceMaster by McCann to become President/CEO in 2005. Mayor McCann has a long history of service to the Defiance community having served for many years on the County and City parks board, City’s Planning Commission as well as the City’s Charter Review committee. Mayor McCann is married to his wife Laurie (Kaemming) for 30 years. They have 5 grown children and 10 grandchildren.

With new ideas and a new approach, McCann’s goal is to strengthen every aspect of the community. He intends to focus on business retention as well as implement creative marketing of our community. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the mayor’s office at 419-784-2101.
